Retired Brigadier General Michael C. Flowers
BG Flowers has over 30 years experience as a leader and has been at the forefront of evolving Army leadership doctrine, training and leader development.
He led the Center for Army Leadership during the Army’s critical transition into the 21st Century
and requirement for leaders who were more adaptive and self-aware, needed to lead and solve today’s unique challenges.
He has commanded and led both small and large organizations and has extensive time leading military and civilian individuals—US and other nationalities. These include Forward Observer, Armored Cavalry Platoon Leader, Aero-reconnaissance Platoon Commander, Troop Commander, Squadron Commander and Commander of the 18th Aviation Brigade (Airborne) and Corps Aviation Officer. He has served on the Army Staff, as the Director of Human Resources Policy. He also was assigned to the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College as a Leadership Instructor, Leader Development Officer and Director Center for Army Leadership. In addition, he served on the U.S. European Command staff as the Chief, Joint Exercises and Training and as the Chief of Operational Plans. His most recent Joint Multinational tour was as the Chief of Staff for the NATO Kosovo force. BG Flowers last position, was as the commander Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, he was responsible for world-wide Combined/Joint, Multi-national operations searching and recovering for missing American Service members from past conflicts. He also served as the senior U.S. government representative for POW/MIA issues for technical negotiations with foreign governments for host nation agreements. He is a published author on leadership (“Improving Strategic Leadership” March-April 2004 Military Review) and is a member of the Association of the U.S. Army, the Army Aviation Association of America, where he serves on the Scholarship Board, the Military Officers Association of America and the Reserve Officers Association.
