Mayor of Wilkinsburg, PA Vice President of Wilkinsburg Council     Thompson exhibits outstanding citizenship by way of community and  professional contributions.

 His wiliness to accept challenges, demonstrate competency and decision making abilities are just a few of his leadership attributes that makes him an outstanding leader in his community.
 
Mayor Thompson is a member of Deliverance Baptist Church and very involved in many activities within his community as President of Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation, Wilkinsburg Democratic Committee Chairperson Ward 2 District 3.  He is a Member of the Community Engagement Committee for the PSO, Chair of the Wilkinsburg Oversight Committee and the Founder of the 1100 South Avenue Block Club, Member of the Wilkinsburg High School Building Council, Parent Patrol Member of Wilkinsburg Intra-Community Network Leadership Council, Board Member of the Wilkinsburg Boys and Girls club, Assistant Coach for the Wilkinsburg Baseball Association and the Wilkinsburg Midget Football League.  

Mayor Thompson has received countless numbers of recognitions for his stellar community service and leadership which includes Citizen of the Year from Spectrum services in 2008, Political Achievers Award from Talk Magazine 2004,  Appreciation and Commendation from Christian Associates of Southwest Pennsylvania 2003-2004, Outstanding Organization 2000 Award from the Wilkinsburg Chamber of Commerce, Proclamation from Wilkinsburg Borough Council, Award for Exemplary of Improvement and Unification by a Block Club and an Award for Devoted Community Service.
